Jeffrey Brenner, Sr.

October 14, 1946 — May 12, 2020

Jeffrey D. Brenner, Sr., of Masury, Ohio, passed away at 11:56 PM Tuesday, May 12, 2020, while a patient at O’Brien’s Memorial Health Care Center, following a period of declining health. He was 73.

Jeffrey was born October 14, 1946, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, one of five sons to John E. & Jessie M. (Heckathorn) Brenner.

He was a 1964 graduate of Brookfield High School. Later that year, he enlisted with the U.S. Navy. Self was forgotten the day that he left his home to defend our flag and to help keep our country free. He was last assigned aboard the USS Wright following training for interior communications and military requirements for Petty Officers. He received the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged from his duties with the rank of Fireman E-3.

Jeff was a dedicated loyal employee to the Brookfield Board of Education as a Maintenance Supervisor and retired after 34 years of service. He was passionate about his work and never called off. He often put in twelve hour days and he worked the weekends too. He rarely went on a vacation. Keeping those old schools going was his life.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and going to Canada. He will probably be best remembered for being Brookfield’s videographer for at least 20 years, covering all the events held at the schools. In addition, he absolutely loved dogs.

Survivors include: his children, Jeffrey D. “JD” Brenner, Jr. (Sallie), of Brookfield, Ohio, and Jamie L. Brenner, of Cortland, Ohio; his five grandchildren; his brothers, Edward B. Brenner (Patricia), of Brookfield, and Randolph G. Brenner (Kathie), of Masury; and his many nieces and nephews, and great ones too.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gary R. & Donald S. Brenner; and niece, Kodi Lee Brenner.

In accordance to his wishes, private family services will be observed. He will be laid to rest in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, Ohio.
